OUR SUSTAINABILITY JOURNEY

At Mettã we make our brand name our mantra and daily affirmation. Loving-kindness is at the heart of everything we do. This includes acting as sustainable as possible.

Same like the fashion industry, the jewelry industry is changing to suit the needs of our planet. From our manufacturing processes and environmental impact to social responsibility, we are committed to our sustainability journey. Our practices include our packaging, production, the materials we use, and the partners we work with. In addition to that, we are dedicated to supporting the reforestation of Mangrove forests in Indonesia. By giving a second life to existing resources and reducing waste, we turn unloved metals into timeless pieces that are made to be appreciated and worn for their organic shapes and conscious craftsmanship.

Our Materials

Mettã’s conscious jewelry is designed for longevity and it all starts with our materials. We are committed to using precious metals only to ensure highest quality. We source all our materials in accordance with the UN regulated guidelines for ethical and sustainable practices. All Mettã pieces are made of 100% certified recycled 925 sterling silver and 18k gold. The French technique that we use to coat our necklaces, rings, and earrings is called Vermeil, which originated in the mid-18th century.

Our Supply Chain

We are committed to being transparent about our supply chain. Having developed trusting relationships throughout our network we work closely to ensure our supplier adheres to our brand values. Our supplier is a proud member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, a not-for-profit organization established to promote responsible, social, ethical, and environmental business practices.

Our Packaging

We’ve selected sustainable materials for our packaging. Made from 100% recycled card and paper, each of our jewelry boxes uses chemical-free inks and features a matte, aesthetic, and plastic-free lamination.

Our Commitment

Environmental and social consciousness is at the heart of everything we do.

We take full responsibility for the negative impact the jewelry industry can have. We’ve just started out and we're not perfect. But we made a promise and we mean business. Within 2 years from our launch, we pledge to become climate-neutral and hence set an example as well as lead the way in the field of demi-fine jewelry.

We see sustainability as an opportunity rather than a challenge, and we are committed to adhering to the principles of sustainable and conscious development. As we continually look for ways to improve our practices and bring transparency to our supply chain, we hope you’ll join us throughout the evolution of this journey.
